I grew up in Richmond, Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Sociology. I later moved to Norfolk and spent several years in the nonprofit sector supporting children in the public school system and providing job skills training for adults. I am currently in my final year pursuing a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling from Regent University.

I am married to Steven, a producer, videographer, and coffee snob from Pennsylvania. Much of our free time centers around cooking, researching recipes, and exploring new restaurants in Norfolk. I’m also rediscovering my childhood love of reading, so I welcome book recommendations of all kinds.
