Therapy

Clinicians at Watermark use a variety of evidence-based techniques to address the individual needs of each client.

Therapy is an active collaboration process between the client and the clinician, driven by goals that are identified during the treatment process. Effective therapy improves quality of life by equipping individuals with practical skills, providing consistent and intentional support, and leveraging inherent strengths.

We love to see clients achieve their goals and complete a treatment process!

Couples therapy can be helpful for any two people, in any type of relationship, that is facing challenges and needs support.

Couples therapy can be for married or cohabitating individuals, dating relationships, premarital counseling, or other relationships like friendships, professional relationships, or parent-child relationships.

Couples therapy focuses on repairing or building a relationship between two people.

  • Therapy for Children

Emotional support for children is unique because children’s brains are still developing. Children do not always use verbal language the same way that adults do. When a child needs therapy it is important that the therapist understands how to help a child feel comfortable to work through their emotional experiences.

Effective therapy for children requires developmental sensitivity that supports children to process feelings, situations, and their lived experiences in ways that make sense to them. The use of creative and expressive tools such as toys, games, and play, are ways that our child therapists engage our youngest clients in the therapeutic process.

  • Family Therapy

If your family is in a complex or crisis situation we offer a range of support to assist you. Solutions may include multiple therapists working simultaneously with family members, or increasing intervention with longer or more frequent appointments during the crisis time. We are committed to finding a support plan that works for you.

When not in crisis, building a stronger family connection is also a great way to benefit from family therapy. Phase of life changes, stress, and blending families are examples of why people come to family therapy.

  • Group Therapy

Group therapy is a unique setting where a small group of individuals facing similar challenges participate in a shared therapeutic process. Groups are often topical in nature and run for 2-3 months at a time. Group therapy is a great way to relate to others on similar journeys, build skills, confidence, and emotional health. Currently, we are offering the following groups:

    • Women’s Support Group

    • Homeschool mom’s group

    • Executive Function support for Sixth Graders
